What is Paracord?
Used originally for suspension lines on parachutes for the military and later for the civilian world ie (Parachute cord). The number in front of word refers to the weight in pounds the line can hold, 550 equals 550 pounds. The line is made up of an outer nylon sheath made up of 32 interwoven strands. The innercore or the (guts) is made up of seven two-yarn strands. These strands can be used for finer needs when it comes to survival, such as sewing and fishing.
